Raw papaya has lot of health benefits. It is packed with vitamins, enzymes and phytonutrients. The enzymes helps in improving digestion. It helps in cleaning the digestive system because of high fibre content. It has medicinal value, improves immunity and promotes good heart. It is also rich in magnesium, potassium, vitamins A, C, E and B.
Though I have eaten ripe papayas but never have eaten anything cooked with raw papaya. While visiting parents at kerala my mom announced she is going to make a dish with raw papaya and at first I was skeptical how it will taste. I grated the papaya and gave her and after she prepared the dish tasted it, I was so surprised how delicious it was. May be the taste is enhanced because the papaya, coconut are all home grown organic vegetables and the coconut oil used in preparing the dish also made from the homegrown coconuts. Well there is no short cuts in life if one wants to enjoy good things in life.
