Soya chunks are highly nutritional and full of rich proteins, they are odorless and tasteless. For vegans it is a meat substitute. Soya chunks ae made from soy beans.
This recipe is very simple. Soya chunks are cooked in tomato garlic sauce. Coriander powder and cinnamon powder gives flavour to the dish.
INGREDIENTS
Onion medium finely chopped 1
Tomato big 3-4
Garlic 5-6
Soya chunks 1 teacup
Coriander powder 2tsp
Cinnamon powder 2tsp
Pepper powder/ chilli powder 2 tsp (as required)
Coriander leaves finely chopped 2 tbsp
Olive/refined oil 1 tbsp
Turmeric powder. 1 tsp
Salt to taste
METHOD
Heat 2 cups water, when water starts boiling wash and add the soya chunks. Turn off the fire and let the soya chunks be there for 10- 15 minutes. Drain the water. Squeeze and keep it aside ( soya chunks will become soft).
Blend the tomatoes and garlic in a blender. Keep it aside.
Heat oil in a deep frying pan/kadhai add the finely chopped onions. Saute till it becomes golden brown. Add turmeric powder, chilli powder/pepper powder and coriander powder. Saute for a half a minute. Add the tomato garlic puree. Cook on medium flame for 2-3 minutes. Add salt. Stir constantly.
Add the soya chunks (if Chunk’s are big if you want, cut in small pieces). Cook on low flame till the soya chunks are well incorporated in the sauce. Add cinnamon powder and coriander leaves. Mix well. Turn off the fire.
Serve with Indian flat bread/rice/bread.
