Nature’s greatest energy drink is coconut water. It is sweet, most nutritious, clears urinary path and promotes digestion.

Hot summer and sweating I prefer lot of fluids, preferably fresh juices and buttermilk. I buy tender coconut daily and I thought of trying out some new combinations. In this recipe I have added ginger juice and lemon juice to tender coconut.

INGREDIENTS

Tender coconut                 2 glass
Ginger                                    2 tsp
Lemon juice                         2 tsp
Orange rind                         1/2 tsp(optional)
Honey/ sugar                     3-4 tsp as required
Ice cubes                              1/2 glass

METHOD 

Take an inch of ginger peel the skin and in a mortar and pestle crush, grind and squeeze out the juice and strain it.

Cut and squeeze a lemon and take out the juice. Grate 1/2 tsp orange rind. This will give nice orange flavour to the drink.

Mix ginger juice, lemon juice,orange rind, honey/sugar to the tender coconut in a bowl .

Add ice cubes in the glasses and pour the above mixture into it

Serve chilled.
