Cookies are small ,flat, baked treat, containing flour, eggs, sugar, butter and often includes ingredients such as raisins,spices, peanut butter,nuts, dried fruits, oats or chocolate chips. They are baked until crisp or just long enough that they remain soft. In United states and Canada it its called cookie and in most other English speaking countries it is called Biscuit.
INGREDIENTS
Maida/refined flour 2 tea cups
Oats 3/4 tea cup
Butter 1 tea cup
Sugar 1 and 1/2 tea cup
Egg 1
Baking powder 1/2 tsp
Baking soda 1 tsp
salt 1 tsp
Cinnamon 1 inch
Cardamon 2
Vanilla essence 1 tsp
Almonds 30
METHOD
Preheat the oven to 170 deg C
Powder the oats in a blender to a fine powder.
In a bowl take maida, the above powdered oats, salt, baking powder and baking soda and mix them well. Keep it aside.
In a bowl add the egg and vanilla and beat it well. Keep it aside.
Blend the sugar, cinnamon and cardamon in a blender.
In a bowl add butter and above powdered sugar and beat with an electric mixer.
Add the beaten egg to the above mixture and beat it in a smooth paste.
Add the maida flour-oats to the above mix and stir the mixture using a rubber spatula.
Drop rounded mounds of dough almost the size of a walnut on ungreased baking tray with the help of a spoon. Flatten slightly on top with a fork and press an almond on top, bake for 8-10 minutes at 170 deg C or until golden brown. Keep it in the middle rack.
Let them cool on the pan after removing from the oven, then transfer the cookies onto a plate for serving
