Moong dal or green gram is one of the best vegetarian superfoods. It is one of the low carb pulses available and high in protein for vegetarians. It is high in nutrients and antioxidants and has lot of health benefits.
It protects from heat stroke, aids digestive health, promotes weight loss, lowers bad cholesterol, blood pressure and blood sugar levels.
INGREDIENTS
- Moong dal 1 cup
- Green chilies 1-3
- Ginger 1″Rice flour 1 cup
- Asafoetida powder 1 tsp
- Pepper powder 1-2 tbsp
- Cumin seeds 1 tsp
- Pepper powdered 1 tsp
- Sesame oil
- Salt to taste
METHOD
Wash and Soak moong dal overnight.
Morning drain the water and blend with green chilies, ginger and little water.
In a large bowl add rice flour , water and mix it well to a flowing consistency.
Add the moong dal paste in a large bowl. Add pepper powder, asafoetida powder, pepper powder and cumin seeds. Season with salt and incorporate everything nicely.
Add the rice flour batter to moong dal batter.The batter should be of dosa consistency.
Heat a flat non stick pan/ tawa grease it with oil.
Scoop a ladle and spread the batter with the same ladle in the flat tawa and cook on medium heat. Add a spoon of sesame oil on th ed sides and center.
Flip and cook on both sides till golden and crisp.
Take it out on to a serving plate. Repeat the process with other moong dal dosa.
Serve it hot with coconut/ tomato chutney , sambar , butter or sugar.
