Onion uttapam is a favorite south Indian dish. Onion uttapam looks like a thick dosa but instead of using dosa batter idli batter is used . It is tasty,spicy and can be used as a snack or breakfast. Left over idli batter can be used for making onion uttapam.
INGREDIENTS
Idli batter 3 ladle
Onion big finely chopped 1 no.
Carrot grated 2 tbsp
Curry leaves finely diced 1 tbsp
Green chilli finely cut 2
Ginger grated 1 tbsp
Oil/ ghee as required
METHOD

Heat a dosa pan and grease it with little oil . Medium flame put one ladle idli batter and spread it quickly in a circular motion and make a thick round disk of 4-5 cm.
Sprinkle onions, curry leaves, ginger, chilly and carrot. Drizzle 1- 2 oil on top.
Flip it after a minute and on low flame cook till the onion are golden brown and crisp. Take it out and keep it in a plate.
For the next uttapam again bring to medium heat and put the batter , after flipping bring to low flame.
Serve hot with sambar, coconut/tomato chutney
