Mangoes are seasonal fruits and are available in plenty during summer in India.
Pacha manga means raw mangoes in malayalam, pacha manga chammanthi is a no cook kerala delicacy prepared with rawmangoes, coconut and red chilies. Traditionally grounded Coarsely in a hand stone grinder but now can be ground in a blender. To give a unique taste the chillies are slightly roasted in fire.
It’s a delicious mouthwatering spicy chutney, coarsely grounded and served as an accompaniment with steamed rice.
SERVES: 2 -3 PERSONS
INGREDIENTS
- Raw Mango 1
- Coconut grated 3 tbsp
- Red chilies 2
- Salt to taste
METHOD
Wash, remove the skin and seed of mango. Chop the flesh roughly.
I am taking Kashmiri chillies ( can prepare with any chilies, the spiciness of chutney is up to you so add accordingly ). With the help of kitchen tongs turn it on fire for half a minute. Dont burn it.
In a blender blend coconut, mango, chillies and salt to a coarse paste.
Serve with steamed rice.
