Mushrooms are consumed for their nutritional and medicinal value. They are easily found in markets.
Button mushroom is the most common variety of mushroom consumed all over the world.The white button mushroom is sold as fresh mushroom or is canned and used for soups, sauces and other food product.
Consuming mushrooms helps in preventing heart disease and cancer, boosts immune system, it includes rich amount of Vitamin D and potassium.
This recipe is very simple, delicious and a very tasty starter/ snack for parties. Mushrooms caps are stuffed with stuffing made of mushroom stems, coriander leaves, bread crumbs and mozzarella cheese and baked.
INGREDIENTS
- Mushroom 4
- Mozzarella cheese 1 tbsp
FOR STUFFING
- Mushroom stalk 4
- Garlic pods 2-3
- Coriander leaves chopped 2 tbsp
- Bread crumbs 2 tbsp
- Mozzarella cheese 2 tbsp
- Salt to taste
- Pepper 1/2 tsp
- Olive oil 2 tsp
METHOD
Preheat the oven for ten minutes at 175 deg C
Wash and clean the mushroom. Remove all the impurities.
Carefully break the mushroom stems and remove from mushroom caps. Keep the mushroom caps.
Chop the stems into small pieces. Heat oil/butter in a pan add finely chopped stems and finely chopped garlic, saute till mushroom stalk is cooked. Transfer it into a bowl , add chopped coriander leaves, mozzarella cheese, salt and pepper . Mix the filling well with your hands.
Toss the mushroom caps with olive oil. Generously fill the stuffing inside the mushroom caps and on top sprinkle some mozzarella cheese and place on a baking sheet.
Bake the mushroom for 20 minutes at 175 deg C . The tops will become brown. Serve hot.
